Tracy Romel
Licensed Master of social work
“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it.” - Brene Brown
Hello, my name is Tracy Romel, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 13 years of experience in the field. I specialize in supporting clients through challenging times, including issues related to depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, parenting, and coping with change. I am dedicated to helping individuals find effective solutions to their challenges, enabling them to reach their fullest potential. Therapy is a journey that requires time and commitment; it is a courageous step for those willing to seek and accept help. My practice incorporates Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness techniques. I have also received specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to grow and change in order to live their best life, and I look forward to the possibility of working together.
I am dedicated to supporting you through challenging times, bearing witness to your stories of past and present in order to create the future you deserve.

I welcome clients of all ages, identities, and backgrounds. I strive to create a safe, trusting environment for all of my clients. I specialize in working with kids ages 12 and up, teens, and adults of all ages. I have a lot of experience in working with adults in transition such as becoming a parent, processing a loss, and going through a divorce.

I utilize a person-centered psychotherapy, which is a gentle, compassionate approach to therapy where the focus is on you as an individual. It was developed by psychologist Carl Rogers, and is based on the belief that every person has the ability to grow, heal, and find solutions within themselves.
In this kind of therapy, the therapist creates a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and understood. Rather than directing or advising, the therapist listens deeply and supports you as you explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. The goal is to help you reconnect with your inner wisdom and gain confidence in your ability to make positive changes in your life.
At its core, person-centered therapy is about empathy, acceptance, and genuine care. It encourages you to trust yourself and recognize your own strength, knowing that you are the expert on your own life.
I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) which is a kind and supportive approach designed to help people, especially children, heal from difficult or traumatic experiences. It combines talking about feelings, learning healthy ways to cope, and understanding how thoughts and behaviors are connected. I work gently with you to process the trauma at your own pace, helping you feel safe, stronger and more in control of your emotions over time.
