Frequently asked questions

Therapy at Huffmaster Therapy Collective

  • We are located in Bloomfield Hills, MI but provide therapy online across the state of Michigan.

  • Its simple. All you need is your phone or computer, a good wifi connection, and privacy to have your session. We conduct all sessions using the HIPAA compliant Zoom platform.

  • At this time, we are not offering in-person sessions, but plan to later in 2024. We will update you when and if this becomes an option.

  • Our full fee is $200 for the initial session, and $155 for a 45-60 minute individual therapy session. However, we participate with most major insurances, and can bill your insurance on your behalf if in-network. Insurance dictates the rates we are compensated. Each insurance plan is different, and we will help you estimate and understand what your out of pocket costs may be when using your insurance.

All of our therapists have a cancellation policy of at least 24 hours. Please talk with your therapist if you have any questions about this and to clarify their individual policy.

We do ask all clients to keep a valid credit or debit card on file with us at all times. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please know you can talk with your therapist about this.

  • Our practice participates with most major insurance providers. Please refer to this comprehensive list.

BCBS (includes Anthem and Federal plans, Medicare plus blue PPO)

    BCN & BCNA

    Priority Health

    Aetna

    United

    Cigna

    ASR

    Blue Cross Complete (medicaid)

We are in the process of being able to accept more insurances, including medicare & Humana.

If you have an insurance we don’t currently accept, you may have out-of-network benefits. If so, we will be able to provide you with a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • During your first appointment, or the ‘intake’ appointment, you will review practice policies and procedures, discuss scheduling, have the opportunity to ask your therapist any questions you may have, and you will also begin sharing with your therapist more about yourself, your history, what has brought you to therapy, and what goals you may have.

  • The length of a therapeutic treatment is different for everyone. You and your therapist will periodically be discussing this, and you will be encouraged to share how you are feeling. At HTC, we strongly support long-term therapeutic treatments as well as shorter, briefer episodes of therapy, depending on the modality and what feels right for you.

  • Under legal requirements, healthcare providers are obligated to provide cost estimates for medical services and items if you're not using insurance or lack coverage. You have the right to obtain a Good Faith Estimate detailing the expected total cost of non-emergency services, including associated expenses such as diagnostic tests, medications, equipment, and hospital fees. This estimate should be furnished to you in writing at least one business day prior to your scheduled service or item. Don't hesitate to ask your healthcare provider or any other potential provider for a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling any services.

  • Since our practice is completely online, we collect information digitally through a HIPAA compliant Electronic Health Record platform called TherapyNotes. The therapy portal created for you once you’re a client is what we will use to collect all legal and clinical documentation, as well as payment authorization forms and insurance information. It is a very intuitive and easy to use patient portal.
