Licensed Master of Social Work
I am here to encourage healing, growth & positive relationships.
Let's work together to make sense of those people-pleasing tendencies, those situations when you let anger mask your feelings of fear, and the actions you default to when you feel uncomfortable in social situations. Oftentimes, reactive behaviors are learned in early childhood as a defense mechanism. You learned certain actions will keep the physical and emotional pain away. However, you are not a child anymore and you are noticing how those learned actions are now negatively impacting you.
Perhaps you are still making sense of how the lack of a consistent caretaker is affecting your current relationships or dictating your attachment style. Maybe you weaken your boundaries to keep others happy, forgo your desires and set your feelings aside in pursuit of keeping the peace. Maybe you’ve noticed your sense of worth only comes from the external validation you receive. We can explore the impact of your experiences of isolation or fear, gain understanding, and heal from those moments - together. Let’s recognize the compassion we can give ourselves. If you are looking for someone to support your journey, challenge you, and shrink your feelings of “doing this alone”, I am one who could help you.

I use a client-centered approach to help empower individuals ages 13-55 to uncover their resilience and reach their full potential. Techniques include EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Together we will discuss your therapy goals, identify the life events most impactful on your present feelings, thoughts and behaviors, and encourage giving yourself compassion as you learn about yourself and develop new patterns and understandings.
We will work through stressors, anxiety, loss, boundaries, self-esteem, and identity. During our sessions, we will discuss real-life situations you have experienced in the recent weeks to understand and explore what other behaviors or thought patterns might have made the situation better. We will review realistic integration and effectiveness of new coping strategies and then begin diving deeper into the topics you want to discuss and process. We will explore childhood experiences and how those experiences present in behaviors, feelings and close relationships now.
